Parkland Plan for Higher Level Scheme on early 19th century parkland laid out by Jane Austen’s brother, surrounding gardens with late 16th century and early 18th century remnants.
Lyveden, Northamptonshire
Conservation Management Plan for unique survival of Elizabethan water garden. The Conservation Plan project led to English Heritage recognising the importance of the remains of the garden and upgrading to Grade I on the Parks and Gardens Register.
Cliff Park and Gardens, Dovercourt, Essex
Historic Landscape Assessment of late 19th century seaside villa garden that was converted into a public park in the early 20th century, as part of urban regeneration initiative.
Danbury Park, Essex
Historic Landscape Assessment of medieval deer park with significant 18th and 19th century overlays, including identification of important features of these periods which had been almost lost due to vegetation growth since the cessation of traditional management practices since the Second World War. Assessment of significance and management recommendations to Essex County Council who run some of the site as a country park. See the book created as a result of this project.
Hestercombe, Somerset
Research projects to inform the re-creation several lost 18th century garden buildings: the Chinese Seat, the Rustic Seat and the Octagon Summerhouse. Due to lack of site specific evidence we used a lot of context from other buildings elsewhere.
Pentillie Castle, Cornwall
Multi-faceted project assessing archaeology, ecology and architectural history of several built structures in the gardens and parkland to inform recommendations for their repair and restoration, including the earliest mausoleum in the designed landscape in England.
